Quitting coffee

I want to quit coffee. I’m only drinking one cup but coffee has always had a bad affect on me. It’s the crash, the anxiety, less energy and the worsened sleep.

Only problem is I’m afraid being wise in the moment but when I wake up I go F it and have a cup.

Maybe I should throw away my coffee in the trash, and simply force myself.

I quit because of crashes, best decision i made. Better than quitting cigarettes… says a lot

Cool, that’s motivating. I’m really considering throwing my coffee in the trash and going for a small cup of tea tomorrow instead, to taper down…

I agree, you should try.

I could never quit coffee, it helps in so many ways.

I’m on one cup of tea now, down from 1 cup coffee. and yesterday I felt really bad but woke up today and felt better. It really does silence your mind to a degree to quit caffeine!

I’ve quit coffee a couple of times, I am drinking it now again, but I think it also effects my symptoms. Like talking to people that aren’t there or those people being there.

Taper off of it. I can’t quit coffee so I do decaf if I can control it. Good luck.

Another decaff user here. tbh I can’t tell the difference except I sleep much better. I drink a lot of fluid and if I quit coffee I would drink beer so its better I drink decaff.

I can’t drink coffee or alcohol because of stomach issues. It’s funny when you have to quit you do it, but when it’s a choice it’s harder to do what you want.

It’s a good idea I guess Tim hortons and Starbucks are expensive so is a coffee maker and coffee grinds

Insomnia is the only problem I have with coffee

I’m a zombie without my coffee, I can’t understand why anyone would quit given whole days of sleepiness while trying to do things like work a job, it just makes like difficult for me

Good luck though, I hope you reach your goal :upside_down_face:

Going 100% caffeine free tomorrow is the plan. I found a herbal tea (naturally caffeine free) that I like, and will drink that instead.

I tried staying 100% caffeine free for a good while, but I kept getting like halfway headaches all the time. So I decided to take a quart of a caffeine pill(50mg) daily. It helps already after two days.

Ah I thought you were 100% off man, but yeah 50mg isn’t a lot… glad it helps you. Do you think the headahes would eventually passed if you kept at it?

No, I don’t think it’s whitdrawal because I was totally off for at least a month I think. I suspect it’s the zyprexa causing it and then caffeine alleviates it. Just a theory though.

Yeah that makes sense, I believe they have caffeine in painkillers to help with headaches. (also other pain perhaps)
