I smoked around five cigarettes a day for about a year and a half in the army. It took me about fifty tries to quit. Just think of the money you’ll save. Think how it will improve your health. I’ve heard that Buproprion can help with the cravings.

No but I feel like its dragging me down but its like a crutch I don’t need…

If you have the want then more power to you. Anything can be accomplished with the drive to do so.

I just quit smoking yesterday. I’m using the patch. It was a little rough earlier today. I’m using the support of my state’s quit line. They have trained CBT therapists that coach you. They even sent me two weeks worth of patches. They suggested adding nicotine gum to help step down from smoking 2 packs a day to using the patch which is a pack worth of nicotine. Trust me if I can quit you can too. My reasons to not smoke weigh heavier than my reasons to smoke. Good luck to you! :sunny:

I have tried quitting smoking too, but have failed to quit so far.
I need to buy nicotine gum and retry. I really need to make a point to myself that why do I want to quit.
And forget all the reasons why do I want to keep smoking.

You were in the Army Crimby?

As for cig. addiction?

I figure that the feeling of being a failure trumps my efforts So I hit a cig. for 3-4 drags then I put it out.

I get my fix AND save money.

I was given a good Vape rig just need to replace the battery with a rechargeable one

Yes, from 1977 to 1981 - before the Reagan military buildup. It was kind of a different army back then.

I smoke when I’m bored but vaping helps a lot and is healthier

I would recommend a vape pen, one that comes from a standardized and easy-to-do formula, IF you can’t do the patch, lozenges, gum, etc. Replacement therapy is safer than vaping, and vaping can be incredibly addicting.

I myself find lozenges to work…I relapsed on the vape and it became insane, so I am back on the lozenges. Seems to work well. I didnt like the patch (oral fixation…I like things in my mouth…heh) and the gum sort of sucks too.

I still vape with my coffee. That inhaled nicotine hits the brain fast and hard, and every time I wake up my brain is a mess.

But if you really cannot do the nicotine candy, I would do the patch, if not that, I would vape. Smoking is INCREDIBLY hard to quit, and if you’re going to inhale stuff, vapor is better than tar and burning paper with ink on it and tobacco. I have a huge stash of vape stuff as well as gum and lozenges. I just can’t quit nicotine. I have a lozenge stuck on the roof of my mouth right now.

Smoking cigarettes is the worst option. Better off smoking pot.
