I saw a new APRN today. I was really scared and anxious to see her, but she turned out to be really nice and made me feel at ease! She gave me some samples of Latuda and diagnosed me with Psychotic Mood Disorder NOS alongside my PTSD. I just wanted to share.
Does anyone with experience with Latuda have any advice? I’ve never taken a drug like this before.
Latuda was by far the best antipsychotic i’ve been on (along with Haldol, which I’m on now, but that’s a different story)
Difference is, it’s kinda expensive so I couldn’t stay on Latuda for long.
I will say that everyone reacts differently to these sorts of meds, so no one can really tell you what it’ll be like. Just keep an eye out for Extrapyramidal side effects and weight gain. Those are the major ones that screw with people.
Hey, how is Haldol for you? I might ask my pdoc to switch to ti or add it.
Haldol is pretty good! My pdoc added it on top of 160mg of Geodon after my psychotic symptoms got really bad. Not for everyone, but it’s worked okay for me.
