Probably going to switch Meds

I honestly dont think that the Risperidone is working like it should.
I recently had my dose increased to 4mg and I am getting more paranoid every day.
Im now too paranoid to stay at my new place and Im too paranoid to deal with caseworkers.
I think its time I cautiously try a new med.

Maybe low dose Haldol?
Maybe Rexulti?
Maybe - something else.

Im tired of living in constant Fear.
Getting paranoid in public!

Ughh!! :confounded:

I’m really sorry that you are going through this, friend. I hope that you find a med that works soon.

Have you ever taken Abilify? I do not remember?
Have you tried Geodon ?

I have tried Abilify before but it made me too amped up!
I’m concerned with Geodons cardiac side effects - not interested.
Thinking about trying Rexulti.

Rexulti is very closely related to Abilify. I hope it works for you and doesn’t amp you up like the Abilify.

Have you taken both? @frencheese
Yeah this is a concern of mine.
There’s always low dose Haldol

I haven’t taken Rexulti. I’m on Abilify now. Abilify gave me akithisia at a higher dose.

Have you thought about Vraylar?

Vraylar didn’t work for me, plus it really amped me up worse than Abilify!

I really hope Rexulti is the ā€œitā€ drug for you then. Sounds like you’ve been through a lot with these med changes.

I have tried risperidone three times, abilify, fanapt, invega, Latuda and haldol. I currently take 160 MGS of Latuda and haldol Depot they are working great

Wave I hope you and I both find something that works. I’m a complete mess but luckily I see my pdoc tomorrow. I’m probably going to end up on prolixin. I would like haldol but it causes diarrhea. Keep us updated on your med sit.

I really hope things work out for you @roxanna!
Thank you and I will see what happens with my pdoc.
She may just keep me on risperidone.

Why can’t you get off risperidone if it’s not working? Or helping

I’d say it’s working but maybe not enough.
I’m still getting some paranoia.
I’ve tried a lot of the Atypicals and risperidone is the most effective so far.
I don’t know if switching will be beneficial in the end.
Last time I switched meds I ended up in the Hospital.

Are you taking a high mg of risperdal?

I got it raised to 4mg.
It’s got a lot of side effects, I really don’t want to raise it more.

No I was thinking maybe lower. I always found the higher the dosage the increased side effects I guess duh but hell I can’t tell whether what is doing what when meds are mixed.

Which AP are you on now @roxanna?
I forgot.

Perphenazine it worked for seven years .
