Punk rock do you like this music 🎶

I think I’m about to really get into this genre of music. I think my style of rapping kind of is fit for punk rock/rap more than rap.

I like Bad Religion, NOFX, and the early work of The Offspring, before they made crap songs like “Pretty Fly for a White Guy.”

I’m still listening @Jonnybegood but my comment is that the Talking Heads were more "new wave’ than punk rock.
I remember this band well from the eighties. When I got out of the hospital in 1982 I got a job and my boss used to play a lot of Talking Heads over the sound system at work. Lol, I remember him playing “Sweet Dreams” by the Eurythmycs constantly and I hated that song.

Yeah she’s pretty Hot!

Punk rock is kind of an umbrella term for anything that embraces a rebellious spirit and that is outside the mainstream.

When I think of punk I think of bands like the Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, Black Flag, and people like Jello Biafra and Henry Rollins.

There’s a million other bands I could mention, and a million other ways I could define the punk movement. But I suppose the beauty of punk is it doesn’t really belong to one person or one group.

There’s no central authority that governs it.

Yeah Talking Heads was part of the new wave reaction to punk. Punk didn’t hit mainsteam america like it did in other countries. Bands like Talking Heads and Blondie filled that new sound in the states. @Montezuma names some great American punk bands. You could add Husker Du to that list as seminal American Punk rock.

Sid Vicious died of a heroin overdose a long time ago. Johnny Lydon ( Rotten ) was in PIL and it’s him in that song not Sid.

Yes @rogueone Husker Du is also one of the great American punk bands.

Thank you for the shout-out
