Poor night vision

I can’t see at night. There’s huge circles of light around all the lights on the road. So today I’m getting my eyes checked. I had lasik long ago so my eyes aren’t nearly as bad as before but I can’t drive once the lights are on anymore. Plus closeup has become blurry.

Yes, it sounds good to get checked out.

I surrendered my drivers license recently, but a couple of nights ago, I tried walking across the street to the mailbox. Nearly fell off the curb! I can’t see in the dark either.

PS, you’re brave to get Lasik. I’m terrified of eye surgery…one of my biggest fears is getting cataracts! 🫨

I was so blind before lasik I felt it was worth the risk because I couldn’t see anything without it anyway. The biggest letter - E - at the top of the chart looked like a tiny little light at the end of a long dark tunnel. I had everything to gain and nothing to lose

So I need glasses for both distance and closeup. I got bifocals without the line. I ordered the cheapest glasses they had with nothing extra except the bifocal part. My insurance paid $200 towards the glasses and I still owed $147!!!

$147 for the cheapest frames, bifocals, but no antiglare, no transitions to dark in the sun, nothing extra. Ugh! Glasses cost way too much!

I had LASIK done twice. I can drive fine at night and only very rarely I need reading glasses. I’m not bragging, just giving you information.

Does Medicare or Medicaid pay for glasses?

I have the exact same problems, in addition to right eye being quite foggy. Perhaps you have cataracts? I will likely be having surgery within a few months for mine.

My meds make me sensitive to light, just a normal sunny day burns my eyes. Also I have what you described where lights at night are blinding.

Yes.l @77nick77 I have Medicare. It covers $200 towards the glasses. I got the cheapest frames I could plus no extras on the lenses except no line bifocals and I still had to pay almost $150 out of pocket

I do, but was told they’re mild and it’s most likely a combination of lasik and my astigmatism

Hmmm, I wonder if it’s my meds. Thanks for letting me know @Mars

My night vision improved with practice. I had lasik in 2016
