Poll: Do you see different colors associated with different pop songs?

When I listen to pop music, I see a color associated with certain songs.
For example, Taylor Swift’s older songs are red, green, and yellow to
me. Avicii’s Wake Me Up is purple and black. The song Missing You by
John Waite is reddish. Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen is light yellow
and pink. I see these colors throughout the song as I’m listening to
it.

Do you see different colors associated with different pop songs?

  • Yes - and they’re obvious, clear, or distinct
  • Yes - and they’re kind of obvious, clear, or distinct

Does anyone else experience something like this? If so, what are some examples of colors you see for some pop songs?

I also mentally ‘see’ the song as a fluid 3D construct. I have been formally DXed with autism and ‘synthaesia’ is an aspect of it.

The 3D construct sounds interesting. Do you see the same colors for the each song throughout the whole song? Do you tend to see the same colors for the same pop artists?

No. Colour corresponds to pitch (sort of). It’s difficult to put into words.

@shutterbug Have you heard about Daniel Tammet who sees numbers as colors and shapes? His autobiography, Born on a Blue Day, is interesting. Also, there’s an interesting documentary about him.

Yes. He’s also a synthete.

It’s called synesthesia :relaxed:

I can never remember how to spell it.

@anon9798425 @shutterbug. You’re both correct. A synesthete is a person who has synesthesia. :nerd:
