What else will you call schizophrenia? Thatâs literally the name which identifies the disorder.
Also welcome to the forum.
Japan, South Korea and Taiwan have changed their names
This has been discussed here quite a few times over the years. Trouble is if you change itâŚwhat do you change it too? I personally donât mind schizophrenia because itâs been there a while now. Others think it should be changed and I can understand that.
It wasnât even called schizophrenia in Japan. It was called âmind split diseaseâ. They changed it to âintegration disorderâ. The same in South Korea.
Front loaded trouser syndrome. Duh.
How many years have I been lobbying for this now?
Yâall are punks for not supporting me here.
We should call it Frank.
Have you seen Donnie Darko or did you just pick the name Frank at random? Either way Iâm all for it
I never saw it but I heard of it.
they call it Down syndrome, because of John Down.
the guy who laid it out, or made it clear.
Itâs still called schizophrenia. The new name is associated with more stigma now.
âŚstigma follows everywhere, unfortunately. The new name is jo-hun-byeong (쥰íëł) which makes me cringe. I tremble every time I hear it. But I honestly donât know what it stands for.
I just hate that I have it and I hate myself for it.
Down syndrome is said a lot better than âmongaloidâ
Yeah, the word âschizophreniaâ itself sounds harsh to the ear.
I was always partial to finding a term more friendly. How about âboo-boo of the brainâ?
Schizophrenia is translated into split mind.
Doesnât make sense.
The stigma was lowered when manic depression changed over to bipolar disorder.
From what I understand, the term means âa mind split from realityâ.
i think i prefer manic depression,
@Daze that is a big improvement
@77nick77 Boo Boo is a really funny/cool way of describing sz, man i wish it was that
This is really pointless. Say this term is dropped, then the next term will be stigmatized. What are you accomplishing?
