Why do vegans try to imitate meat? Just eat the real thing holy crap.
Imitation fish?!? Yuck!!
Food here is expensive, especially vegan or vegeterian.
I was vegeterian for 15 years, but ate cheese, anything not slauthered.
Now the fast food.
Yeah… I’m vegan, and I eat Beyond Burgers, but this is a little too much for me.
after seaspiracy on netflix it should be the rage.
i buy plant based meat on a regular basis.
i do not eat it daily but im on a vegan diet for the animals and environment.
plant based meat can be expensive.
beyond meat sausage cost $18 for 2 sausages.
but there are cheaper brands that are $10 for 6 sausages or $5 for 4 small sausages.
lentils are very cheap though.
they make a nice soup.
I am not vegan but sometimes I eat vegan burgers.
Some of them are really good!
I understand the reasoning
Ocean life is is precarious spot
Seaspiracy the latest vegan movement push
I don’t like it
I’m not against plant based itself
Stop turning it into fake meat
Be authentic
I see a future of lab grown simulated food
Really don’t like it
However current practice of how we harvest ocean food sources and utilize it
Unsustainable and will destroy the oceans as we know it
Perhaps even the land
And earth itself
Vegans obsess more about meat than about veganism
I’m tired of this anti-vegans and anti-nonvegans thing.
Can people just get along?
You’re not going to save the world by being vegan, and imitation fish is not a threat to your self-esteem or identity or whatever. Let people eat what they want.
IMHO even if I was vegan, I would avoid processed and heavily-processed foods like this. Stick with the basics I say. To each their own though.
Black bean patties are genuinely tasty I know they’re a vegetarian thing but just in general they’re pretty good. They cook up fast in the microwave and give you a real hearty sandwich. I like them and I’m no way a vegetarian or vegan.
I’m wondering what else they’ve got nestled away that’s genuinely tasty but just sounds weird.
Also the fish in your supermarket is probably mislabeled to be something it isn’t from what I know. So I don’t see this any different then just getting what you paid for.
Highly processed. Doesn’t sound healthy
I rarely eat vegetables, can’t stand them.
I tried the Impossible Whopper from Burger King, it’s the only plant based meat I have tried. It was surprisingly good, if I didn’t know it was made of plants I would’ve thought it was really meat. But it was more expensive than an regular Whopper so I doubt I’ll be buying another one.
You are quite wrong about this.
Why not eat plants, fruits, veggies just the way they are? Cooking, salad, stirring is enough I guess. Why do they need to look and taste like meat when you don’t like eating meat?
Some vegans are vegan because they don’t like to harm animals. They may still like the taste and texture of meat, though.
Plus, a lot of meat substitutes are an extra protein source.
Soybean agriculture destroys soil ecosystem. Rodents, rabbits, small reptiles, millions of soil microorganisms.
Similar with other large scale agriculture. Palm, sugarcane, wheat.
Why not just eat more extra protein? Soy protein. Pea protein.
