That’s what me and my friends used to do as kids. There were several shallow creeks by us and if you wade in the water during the summer there were always dozens of tadpoles swimming around. We used to grab a bunch of them and put them in jars and try to watch them grow into adult frogs. I hate to say this but when the Fourth of July came around every year we would buy illegal firecrackers and catch tiny frogs and light a firecracker right next to them and blow them to smithereens.
poor frogs, what did they ever do to you?
on bonfire night here in Britain me an a friend got loaded with fireworks and bunkered down having a fireworks fight, no-one got injured though it was just the thrill of it really lol
One of them ran off with my wife. I hold grudges.
i remember seeing a cat that had been thrown from a high rise by some school children, they were boasting about it too, pretty sick if you ask me, poor cat managed to limp under a bush to die
i don’t think i could ever hurt another animal or creature except maybe bugs, the snake i had bit me on the first day and my arm went weird but it was ok after a while lol (was just a baby python) lol
i’m not having a go, just saying
Your post is triggering -I’m a big Animal lover
I love the reptile house at the zoo. All the little Amazonian frogs and stuff like that.
sorry i don’t know everyones triggers
It’s ok @asgoodasitgets - you didn’t know
I get almost a panic feeling when I hear about cruelty towards animals. Really deep despair about the condition of a world where even children would inflict harm on an innocent. Animals are living creatures with feelings. I don’t understand not knowing that. My cat’s on my lap right now. He’s such a sweet love.
I feel the same, very frantic and frightened.
Yeah I wrote about this in my book. About an owl. I tend to repeat things, but, someone read my book and gave it 5 stars…I think it was someone on this forum but who [quote=“Hedgehog, post:9, topic:51654”]

I’m sorry, @turningthepage, but I don’t know about your book. What’s the title and where can I find it? I’d love to take a look!
I think that children, just as how they have to learn not to break stuff when playing with it, they also still have to learn right from wrong in treating others and animals included. I don’t think the child is born a saint.
I think that’s a good analogy, except that animals will cry out and struggle, whereas an inanimate object will not. There is innate connection with other living creatures. When that connection, that empathy, is not there, it represents cruelty, even at a young age. Even before the age of reasoning. A child can learn to not be cruel, but when it has to be learned, I find that disturbing. I understand what you’re saying. I think you’re very kind to give this sort of benefit of doubt, and you may be right. I find it an intolerable trait in any human of any age.
I just bought it for my kindle. I’m a slow reader, so it will take me awhile. I’m impressed that you have a book out on the market!
Thank you so much @hedgehog!!!
It’s based on true events (keep sandy hook in mind as I’m from Connecticut not New York) but Jeff garrison character and the Raven is fictional. Hope you enjoy it
I think that’s a beautiful view on it. But I don’t share it with you.
