It was fun I caught a bunch of crawdads…well it was fun until I noticed the 2 water mokasens…sp…that were hanging out right by my little one…the baby’s are dangerous as ■■■■ they can’t control the amount of venom they pump when they bite…I ran them off without killing them so I’m kinda proud of that…but just seeing them put me in worry mode the rest of the time…dam snakes…
I spent half my childhood in creeks. We used to catch tadpoles and put them in a jar. We also caught tiny frogs. When the creeks were dry we would ride our bikes in them.
We used to make a rope swing hanging from a tree near the creek and jump off midair and over the creek to the other side. It was fun in winter but kinda lame in summer when the creek was dry.
Ahhh, nostalgia…
I have a creek running through my land, and my niece loves to chase the crawdads. She hasn’t successfully caught one yet, but she did once poke a dead one with a stick.
Trick is to cup your hands around them…but don’t squeeze their pinches hurt…the larger ones are easier to catch too…
Flame, the crawdad whisperer…
I went fishing once and we trapped a bunch of crawdads. In spite of the snakes it sounds like you had some fun
I love boiled crawfish! I passed on a trip to a lake today. I just walked down my road.
