I use to like fireworks when I was younger. I still like them a pretty good amount.
I hate them. And fireworks shows are boring after about 5 minutes!
So i like them but i also hate them. They look so pretty, but the BOOM freaks me out. Even when im expecting it.
No. I respond to them like animals would: I want to hide under the couch. They scare me. They have fire and noise and smell and smoke, all of which I do not like. I used to like them before. Now I prefer staying inside.
Hate them. I dislike bright lights and noise.
I loved them growing up but i dont like the noise now
there was a time in my life where I thought it was harmless…many lost dogs at indepence day fireworks…running off from the bangs…sad.
I’ve always loved them. My two dogs don’t mind them, and my guinea pigs are off in their own little world, so I don’t have to stress about the animal reaction, either theirs or mine.
We have a hard time getting a view sometimes because of our terrain, but when I get to see them, it still seems magical to me.
Fond memories of sitting on a hill staring into the night sky. Love em.
I still like firework shows on the 4th of July. As a kid, me and my friends bought packs of firecrackers every time July rolled around. They weren’t legal in my city growing up and weren’t sold but everybody knew another kid who sold them. I know that many older kids went up to Chinatown in San Francisco and bought a brick which was like 35 or 40 packs and sold them for 25 cents for a pack and made a profit.
We had firework stands in our city up until about 1976 when I was 15 before they were banned where you could buy family packs which was a mixture of different types of fireworks or you could buy individual fireworks like “snakes” or pinwheels or sparklers or piccolo pete’s. Then the coolest kids would get a hold of M-80’s which were firecrackers that were equal to about 1/4 stick of dynamite and blow sh*t up. You could hear those go off a mile away.
That said, last year when the rugrat kids a couple houses down set off firecrackers for two hours straight from 10:00 pm to 12:00 am I was ready to call the cops.
Liked those as kid. No more excited about them these days.
I like them from a distance. I don’t want to get burned by falling debris. That actually happened to people when I was at a fireworks display once. Now I keep my distance
There was this guy in our neighborhood who used to spend hours unrolling fire crackers and getting the powder out. Then he would put all of it in an empty plastic bottle of nasal spray and stick a fuse into it through the spray hole. Then he would go out in the park and light the thing in his right hand, and wait until the fuse had burned down some, and he would throw it, and it would explode in mid air. Most people are scared to do that with just one firecracker. This guy always got the bomb to explode in the air. He had a compulsive need to be a bad ass. I think he got sent to prison for holding up a store.
They’re quite beautiful, but I don’t think the animals enjoy them so for that reason I’d rather not make a fire work.
I fear them…
yeah its marvelous and seeing it make me feel good and happy
I love them when they are handled safely.
