Saying how wonderful it is, I’ll have my own space, they have a communal room and staff there 24/7. etc I went to have a look around today and it’s basically a care home, looks like a small hospital. A large office on the drive way with staff sitting around with visible files, thats for the enhanced section for the most severe people, they even have the same hospital doors you can’t kick down.
My flat would be on the second floor, small dark pokey living room with small kictenantee, very small bathroom and small bedroom. A whole new staff team that had 3 weeks training. They gave me the hard sell saying how loverly it was.
Thats in compression to my group home, large detached victorian town house, two bathrooms, large garden, 3 other rooms which two are occupied, one is spare. The other guys are really nice. We are worried because the care company only care about profits so they’ll move anybody in here which a large care package, we have had a smearer who smeared ■■■■ everywhere, we had somebody from a prison hospital who set fire to two staff members cars with 10 days of moving in, he was in a prison hospital for setting fires. We’ve had a cocain addict and alcohol who begged and stole all the time. I’m quite traumatised by this and wanted to see my options. Thats why I wanted to move out. The manager have said all the referrals are from people in these above categories.
Thats is so true - from my experience from supported housing. Which is why i reckon - i got lucky with a completely separate “granny” annex away from the main house. Most of them here just have bedrooms and a communal kitchen and bog.
@bobbilly Im sorry you getting crap. Are you sure you wouldn’t be able to manage on your own in a 1 bed council flat? You could still have carers visit once a day (which you would pay out of your personal independence payment).
