Paranoid about getting murdered

I have a fear of someone breaking in my house at night and killing me. My paranoia has gotten better since I started Olanzapine but it hasnt fully gone away.

Anyone deal with this type of paranoia?

Yes.

I mentioned in a different thread recently that I sleep in a twin bed downstairs because my husband snores crazy loud all night upstairs.

We’re in a university town, and all we can only afford a tiny one bedroom townhouse. My bed is just a few steps from the front door. :grimacing:

I wake up with every little noise from outside, and I check that freaking lock all night long. I think my nextdoor neighbor might be a drug dealer because there’s traffic in there a lot at all hours, so the noise makes me really paranoid. As if I need help with that

So I also worry about stray bullets coming in windows. Ugh.

I worry about that a lot too. Sorry you’re dealing with that.

How are you doing tonight?

Better. For now anyway lol. My Geodon works great when it’s within 7 hours of dosing…but its supposed to last 12. Raising it to 160 mg on Saturday. :crossed_fingers:

I am in a wicked roller coaster right now between clarity, like right now so close to dinner, and then melting down before my next dose.

How are you? I am about to head off to sleep in a moment, hope you’re doing well!

My husband has been talking to his dad in Australia on FB Messenger and they’re both so loud! Can’t sleep through it.

Sorry you deal with these fears too. You’re not alone. :hugs:

Condolences. My wife sounds like a wood chipper. I’m trying to talk her into trying out a CPAP machine, but she figures it’s not that bad. I’m about to start sleeping in my kid’s bed across the hall.

No, but I live in a decent area now. Worst we worry about is someone stealing our catalytic converter off the vehicle parked out front.

Yes Ive been dealing with this fear for many years

The worst crime in my area happens on the farms. Police response time is too good in town. You can do a lot on an acreage when it takes the cops 30 min to get there.

I had him tested for apnea but he doesn’t have it. But yeah, it’s a challenge! Occasionally i can still hear him from downstairs with his fan running in the bedroom. :joy:

Not anymore. But i do sometimes automatically asses people wether they might be a threat or not while walking about. Even during the day. Lots of people walk around on drugs here it seems. Nothing like some of the footage ive seen coming from some cities in america currently though. Looks real bad in some spots there.

Yes I worry about this too. It doesn’t help someone broke into our sheds over the weekend and stole the gas cans that’s made me worse.

Not anymore.
I started realising how unimportant I am, and that no one wants to murder me, probably.
Simply no reason to do that.

But I have this paranoia to be laughed off.
Also, a bit afraid of walking alone or driving in taxi because of fear of rape.

I have this fear as well! Been dealing with it for years and no medication has really helped. But, i can definitely relate to your struggle. Days like this i try to do some self care. and try to rest. Some symptoms we just have to deal with and the being aware is part of it, ( easier said than done,) I wish you the best, my friend!
