Paliperidone chronic side effects

Has anyone else here suffered chronic side effects while taking this medication.

I’m dealing with chronic aches and pains, chronic fatigue, everything feels mentally challenging, depression, insomnia, vomiting.

It’s mentally and physically crippled me. I struggle to shower, brush my teeth, change my clothes, do the house chores, cook.

It’s fully disabled me. I’m being forced to take it and the cruel psychiatrist won’t let me stop.

I would like to hear others feedback.

I take Invega for over a decade.

For me the side effects are weight gain and feeling like a zombie sometimes.

It’s sometimes hard to discern what is caused by the illness and what by the meds.

I hope your body continues to adjust to the meds and that things get better for you.

The fatigue and insomnia will get better in time. Hang in there. Unfortunately meds come with side effects but its a necessary evil to keep from being insane.

I’ve been on it for eight months and nothings improving.

It feels like I’m in a fight for my life.

I stopped paliperidone after 8 years due to intolerable side effects

It’s kind of a punitive med given for being noncompliant, maybe not so willfully, but the higher risk profile is seen as acceptable because you are noncompliant.

Been on it 3 years and I have bad insomnia.

What side effects did you have?

Did you switch medications?

Been on it for 5 years and have terrible apathy/ avolition.

insomnia ed palpitation cant exercise or get cardio conditioning sleep apnea weight gain it was simply disgusting and working full time at slave labor job

What it did to me was it made me so uncomfortable that i couldnt sit still for 5 minutes it also made me so tired that i couldnt preform any daily tasks it was like an injectable torture device

Avolition that’s what I’m struggling with. Anything task orientated is just a nightmare for me.

My avolition is so bad I can’t cook a meal, shower, brush teeth, change clothes or do the house chores.

It wasn’t like this before medication. I had no problem completing these tasks.

Injectable torture device is exactly what it is if you’re one of the unlucky ones.

I’ve been taking Invega injections for five years and I don’t have any side effects. It works just fine for me.

It has least side effects out of the 4 other aps ive tried over years, ive lost weight on it but it doesnt cause weight loss itself its only because the med i was on before was even worse for my weight as after the first 40 lbs i havent gone down anymore. Sleep issues sometimes, and doesnt do much for anxiety

I had to stop paliperidone because it made me lactate.

Will your pdoc let you switch meds instead of just stopping?

I’ve tried other anti psychotics before all with the same unbearable side effects.

I’ve tried aripiprazole, zuclopenthixol, olanzapine, risperidone.

All unbearable side effects like what I’m describing with paliperidone.

I wish I was you.

He probably has the negative symptoms you are experiencing as well

I’ve been researching avolition and I’ve found a bunch of articles online saying antipsychotic drugs can cause it.

Apparently it’s due to a drop in dopamine

I’m defiantly experiencing chronic avolition.
All the side effects I’m suffering from all suspiciously sound like dopamine related problems.

It would make sense since the antipsychotic drugs affect dopamine receptors and pathways in the brain.

Anyone else suffering side effects from this medication?
