Yes I read Abilify can cause binge eating. I ate a lot on Olanzapine too
No, not binge eating. It kills the metabolism. I am consuming 1000 calories daily, skipping two meals, and eating high protein in the one meal I eat.
Are you still on Clozapine? I read it causes the highest weight gain
Clozapine was by far the worst drug that could possible be taken. I hope they ban it in the market.
I am on abilify/Amisulpride.
I am doing 3mg/daily Saxenda. I have what I regard as a normal appetite now. I rarely snack, I eat small portions, and I am full after. My appetite is well-controlled for the first time in my life. I really hope they let me stay on a maintenance dose when I am at my target weight.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, perhaps Ozempic is quite simply not effective for me at this dose. So, Saxenda is used daily-- that is the drawback-- but I am going to discuss with my doctor. It is worth a shot. Monjaro of course is the best, but not available in my country.
It doesn’t bother me. I don’t even feel the injection.
It certainly is, for most people
I sweat much more when i went down to 1mg from 6mg risp, I think metabolism increased fat burning
I’ve been taking Mounjaro for about 5 months, and prior to that I was on Saxenda…they both felt the same to me except that I had to do the Saxenda every day. I prefer the Mounjaro. Either way, I went from 298 lbs to currently 165 lbs, but I also track and weight my foods and eat only 1100 kcals. I’m also on clozapine.
Saw something about Ozempic eating away at muscle mass too
I think its the same muscle loss as you can have with any fast weight loss diet. I don’t think “eating away” is the proper way to express that. It makes it sound like the drug itself is attacking muscle. I think you can have the same muscle loss with any crash diet where you lost lots of weight quickly. The drug isnt attacking your muscles…its a symptom of extreme weight loss. At least thats how I understand it.
As to the OP. I’ve been on Ozempic for a long time now. Maybe six months? I have not lost weight. As a matter of fact, I have gained considerable weight.
If people lose weight through calorie reduction without exercise they will lose muscle mass. That is why you are told you REALLY SHOULD EXERCISE MORE when using Ozempic, Saxenda, or Monjaro. Regular exercise reduces the likelihood of your body burning muscle instead of fat.
I wish I could become 168 pounds. Ozempic is garbage compared to Mounjaro.
