I just saw on my Facebook account that they gave me a friend suggestion for my guitar instructor. How in the ■■■■, did they know to do that? He sent me a couple texts on phone and called me once, but what the hell? It amazes me the amount of data they collect on you.

I guess because I have messenger as default for messaging on my phone. But he sent texts to my phone number…not a facebook message. Crazy.

My sister and I were just casually talking about period panties and whether or not we would try them.
Neither of us were on our phones or googled it.
However, since that conversation,
We both started getting targeted ads about them.
It’s very Big Brother.

Using applications i need to agree to so many permissions, it takes hours to read through the terms and conditions. Waiting for the day getting my unwanted post delivery i have to pay for dearly. Its insane.

Something similar happened to me. When we bought our car, the salesman was really kind. After we got home, his facebook profile popped up as a suggested contact. I was so freaked out about that. We were just buying a car.

it made MY facebook give me ads for accordions.

I got some pretty scary stuff after posting a prayer. guns and propaganda. great. years ago i was getting friend suggestions from fighters in Syria, a LOT of them. kurds I think and hope. then it was women from Israel for some reason. I thought at the time that someone was doing this to me. I hadn’t posted anything related to all that.
