Not trying to be political here: Obamacare (it's on the home page)

Well if they keep doing as they say above we’ll all be ■■■■■■■ homeless.

Don;t be scared of homelessness. I am thinking of hitting the road voluntary. Somehow i think its important for my spiritual path. Maybe i create a new neongod.

I can barely handle camping,

not my cup of tea.

After 3 months you get used to all kinds of hardship.

Obamacare was a failure because it didn’t make insurance affordable.

that’s why the recipient got tax credits for over half of it.

My daughter’s doctor set her up on it.

She had to get Gold plan for all that she needed.

She missed Medicaid by about 100 dollars of income.

Here in Australia they have a new disability insurance funded by taxing tabacco through the ceiling over the roof.

yeah, the Sin tax, we got that here. It pays Medicaid.

They should put a sin tax on oilcompanies, coaldiggers and enviromental criminals.
Hope i won;t get hanged by the miningcooperations for this statement.
But they are the once presenting our goverments.
Got to go the police is knocking on my door

I think Obamacare did some good things, but they don’t cover a lot of things like heart transplants, right? I’ve been told my private health insurance is better for those sorts of things. I think my private health insurance would keep me alive longer than Medi-Cal. Medi-Cal barely covers my Vraylar copay of $50. My private insurance pays the majority of it and it’s like $1300/month. I know I’m lucky. Obamacare apparently made it more expensive for the middle class or average citizen to get health insurance and it sucked. A lot of preventive and basic stuff was covered, but what about brain surgery or cancer or something serious? My Medi-Cal doctor wouldn’t even let me get an MRI. I had to go to my PPO doctor for that. And it was super easy to get. I’m not trying to be political here, I’m just trying to tell my experiences. Sure, getting an Uber ride is nice, really nice, but it feels like they’re sugar coating a rotten apple in my opinion. But then again, I got a car and family members that can drive me…I’m lucky and fortunate. I also heard they don’t cover vision, dentures, and rather pull teeth at some places, than fill cavities. Are they going to use ceramics or metal fillings?

The best thing for me was increasing the age limit for being on your parent’s insurance. That was nice. I guess for the vast majority of poor people, Medi-Cal/Obamacare is nice and better than nothing. But I don’t think it’s sustainable. I don’t think healthcare costs will go down. I think the debt has and will continue to go up. (20 trillion now?)

The good news for some of you folks is socialism is in fashion. So you’ll probably get your taste of the pie until the whole thing collapses.

I went around asking people that very thing,

did your insurance go up because of Obamacare.

No.

In fact, Phil said his went down.

The greatest thing it did was make it law of the land that an insurance company HAS to take a pre existing condition. It made businesses HAVE to offer insurance to their employees.

There was nothing else for these people before this.

Pre-existing condition thing was super good. I think it showed compassion.

My dad’s insurance keeps going up. My mom’s/step-dad’s insurance went up apparently too. My dad says we might have to drop the quality of our insurance because the premiums are going up like 20ish% next year.

I think my state is discussing removing their expansion of medicaid (I know currently they added a work law for those on medicaid who are over 30; it affects my ex). I’m very worried because prior to the expansion, only pregnant women or women with children or those who qualified fully for disability were allowed to have medicaid. If that happens, I’ll be SOL unless I can qualify for disability. Terrifying times.

I called Medi-Cal one time and asked if they would cover a heart transplant if I was in a car accident or something. I think their answer was it depends who was at fault and if it was the other person’s responsibility, they’ll have to pay, which worries me because there are so many uninsured/under-insured drivers out there. Furthermore, would I be denied coverage over this or would I die in some sort of legal limbo? I chose to keep my private insurance over leaving it and just getting medi-cal + public insurance. The nice thing about medi-cal, is they are better at certain things like finding public housing and work programs for the most part.

I’ve talked to people on both sides.

it depends upon how many people are on the plan,

and how much you use it.

If the kids keep needing glasses, and braces,
and the parents are on expensive meds,

I’m sure it will go up.

My brother through his employer, single payer,
Blue Cross, 100 dollars a month premiums.

Well I’m sure I use a lot because I’ve been hospitalized a lot and my medications are expensive. Schizophrenia isn’t cheap. Hoping someday a cure will be found.

This is because, in car accidents, all injuries are paid for by car insurance, not health insurance. If they’re uninsured drivers, your car insurance would cover it.

@Daze what are CF’ers?
