Not good. Did a new year budget

Well I did a budget and it wasn’t good. I’m going to have to cut back, so I cancelled the cable TV, dental insurance, and Life Lock protection. It’s liveable if I’m careful. I just took out a debt consolidation loan and I have to make payments on it, but the credit cards are paid off. It’s a 5 year loan, so I’ll have to scrimp for a while.

I do my budget monthly and it’s not good either. What makes it worse is something comes up every month so there is never anything left over for saving. It’s a precarious situation. I feel close to homelessness every month. But I guess if worse comes to worse I could just stop paying my debt and go into hiding. The debt collectors can’t call to harass me if I stop paying the phone bill so that’s a silver lining I guess.

I’m so sorry that your budget isn’t going well.

I’m obsessive about doing a budget and have one done through 2019, and a savings plan through 2021. Whether or not I’ll be able to keep to them is another matter. If I can, though, I’ll do just fine. I’ll be paying off all of my credit cards at the end of January, and that will save me over $300 a month, so that will be nice. I’ll be making extra payments on my cars by $150 a month each, so I will pay them off a year early each, then I will be able to buy a house around 2020 or 2021 in the summer if all goes well. Granted, it all depends on my husband’s job. He is finishing his MS in IT, so he will likely be looking for a new job, and that could change everything.

I had my food stamps cut in half without a word of explanation. It hasn’t hit me yet, because I had a lot of food stamps saved up, but when those run out I’m not sure I will be able to afford my internet connection. I’m going to call them to see if I can get some of my food stamps back.

I’m so sorry, crimby. I remember what that was like. It’s not an easy way to live.

My sister’s epileptic and sza, and she lives on $800 a month, plus $60 for her kids’ support from disability. She gets about $300/month in food stamps, and that’s it. It just doesn’t cut it. Next month, her disability is set to be cancelled because she missed paperwork in the mail that she was supposed to fill out. She doesn’t know what she’ll do. It’s so scary when stuff like that happens.
