A tip I find helps as well is. Finish half your meal. Wait 5 minutes. Then continue eating. The signal to stop eating apparently takes 20 minutes to reach your brain or something. When I eat like this sometimes I come back and can’t even finish the second half. It works.
Yes. I know this. The issue was my med making me crave things to an insane extent. Now I’m on the same med but a different for that causes less cravings. I’m doing much better now.
Oh I see. Sorry I didn’t see the original post. I just saw @AmICrazyYet above post listing diet tips. Sorry again!
Glad you’re doing better now!
It’s ok @POET . I lost 100 pounds (45 kg) in 1 year so I’ve got dieting down pat. I was just not sure how to hand the super intense cravings. Now I just need to buckle down and diet again.
I’m starting to do the same now too. That’s why I’ve got diets on the brain. I suppose it’s natural after the holidays. Going back to my old measured diet.
I do 1 cup of vegetable, a cup of fruit, 1 cup protein, 1 cup carb
It’s the only way I ever lost weight besides eating only oatmeal which wasn’t really sustainable
@POET , my favorite weight loss method is two-fold: counting calories and intermittent fasting.
As a female, I restrict calories to 1200 per day. I fast from 8 pm until 11:30am.
That way, if I’m craving something, I can still have it, I just need to fit it into my allowed calories. Once per week, I eat 1400 calories as my cheat day.
I also exercise 3-5 times per week. However, I haven’t been going to the gym because I broke my ankle.
I’m on zyprexa and you know my answer already. Keto and exercise. It’s worth exploring but it’s like any diet. I’ve just got into intermittent fasting. Been doing a brunch from 8-9 am then a tea from 2-4 pm. Losing weight again after months of maintaining.
I think the thing with keto is you can still eat pretty well but it’s not intuitive. Most of what I grew up eating has carbs in it. Most of my favourite things to eat but I still eat well.
The only thing that worked for me was being on a different med. Zyprexa turned me into a black hole that sucked in all nearby food.
Yeah eating speed is important that goes along with the Okinawain way of eating and mindful eating practices too
