Maybe try an ecig? I quit but ended up eventually using an ecig instead. It’s not a perfect solution. It’s still probably not healthy, but I think its better than cigarretes. Maybe a midway point.

Super smart idea! In a week you could be so far along! Who knows when more inspiration might strike and you kick this thing for good!

It is hard to quit. No doubt about it. While having depot, i was hooked again on it before I knew it.

@anon29983254 your strategy sound very solid. Try not to be just waitting for those two hours to pass…

Have you thought about nicotine gum? Here is about £15 for 100 pieces which lasts me a week or so but if I were buying vapes £15 is only 2 days worth of vapes. There’s literally zero harmful effects and you can cut down slowly.

my addiction is horrible right now.

i think i only had a pack and a half a day in my 20’s. got worse in 30’s. need to stop. cant do it inside anymore. its quite the addiction. got hooked while i was young. i think my illness makes it worse.

If you get to do something that would require you focus or attention time flyes faster. I remember when i was hooked on it, that after any little thing I did I needed a cigarete reward. That was hard.
Best of luck.

The only way I can stop is with a vape pen I’ve got a vape Blu.

Maybe try some nicotine patches. Its the only way ive been able to quit. I wear the patch as long as it takes until i stop ever thinking of smoking, then i lower the dose and wear that until i never think about smoking. And repeat until im not wearing a patch at all. Im in the process of quiting right now and its really helping. I was vaping the equivalent of 5 packs of cigarettes a day at one point.

I managed to quit more than a decade ago. I tried and tried and tried. It finally worked. I was lucky that e-cigs didn’t really exist then, it would’ve sucked me back in. I haven’t used nicotine or tobacco AT ALL since I quit. The only way to do it, in my opinion. You quit something, you quit something. I had a dream where I started smoking a cigarette last night. I ended up stubbing it out after a few tokes. I won’t smoke even in my dreams!

I agree but is hard to do.
In my quiting attempts I realised are different levels of adiction.
The gesture of smoking is an adiction as well. Lighting a cigarete is one also.
Few years ago I was able to quit faking smoking. That meant I was doing everything a smokers does, except inhaling in the langs. I was just mouth puffing. It worked for me.

It’s a nasty chemical. You have those receptors in your head and for most it’s addiction.

I was a hopeless nicotine addict and I got sick of it breaking up butts and rolling them into new cigarettes. My shrink told me about Champix and didn’t even finish the course. Got to quit date without any withdrawal…doesn’t work for everyone but it was so easy for me…

I just played strong for a couple of years because I fancied a smoke but knew that if I had one I might feel sick but if I had several it was addict again…best thing I ever did for my health was give up the smokes.
