I’m a new member but have been using this site for years. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia back in 2011. Since then I have had two psychoses lasting 8-18 months at a time. Medication has helped me to overcome it twice now, but I’ve experienced auditory voices, tactile hallucinations, deep seated religious and conspiracy beliefs, OCD, oculogyric crisis and many more. When well, I’m a mental health peer support worker.
Just touching base and saying hi and thank you all for having the courage to engage here. It’s meant so much to me over the years and in times of crisis.
Interestingly Zenmind, my last psychosis prominently featured beliefs in the simulation hypothesis. I was convinced we were in a system at the mercy of our decendants.
“System’s gone rogue” made me smile. Doing much better on new medication now
I resigned a couple of months ago from a mental health peer support worker role as I’d been taking too much time off and felt my condition was interfering with the calibre of my client work
