New job offer

I got an offer today to be a mission planning specialist for an aircraft squadron in Arizona today. It pays really well. About twice as much as I am making working for the government. It’s a government contract job I have to use my security clearance for this job and get some kind of IT certification in 6 months.

I told them I will talk it over with the wife and give them an answer this week.

The wife doesn’t want to move so I would spend all the extra money on a second place to live but still I am thinking about it.

This is doing pilot stuff but not flying so I mostly know how to do it already. I just worry if my security clearance doesn’t get adjudicated because of the schizophrenia I would lose the job. I have an interim right now.

The job I have I can afford my lifestyle where I live but I have so much to learn.

I don’t think the wife wants me to move to Arizona. She said we aren’t moving. I was going to move by myself.

Hard to say no to $90,000 per year. No one is going to pay me that in our hometown.

I got an email from that recruiter for the job I interviewed for in New York City last week. They wanted to make sure I didn’t already take another job. But they have two more interviews to do so they haven’t offered me the job yet.

I told the recruiter I got another offer but I haven’t accepted the job yet so I would still consider it. Will see how this plays out.

I really don’t think i would like Manhattan but it’s a good opportunity.

So there’s a couple different options for you? I hope you love the one you decide to stick with. I wish your wife wasn’t so hard on you. You seem like a good guy who doesn’t deserve it. But hopefully you get the job you deserve

Of course she doesn’t want you to move,

Who’s going to do all the housework?

I always tell my husband to do what’s best for him and his career and I’ll follow.

I can write anywhere.

I have options and I do have a good job for my hometown. I get a raise next April too. And I will get another retirement check out of the deal. I love my house where I live and I can afford all of the bills even before I started working again.

The New York job had two more interviews today and if I end up being near the top of the list they want me to fly out for an in person interview. I should know something tomorrow or Monday. I may just do it if they invite me. I have never been to Manhattan.

I didn’t get offered the job in New York City. But I have another interview for another job in Tucson on Wednesday. I turned down a job offer in Tucson just two weeks ago.

This one isn’t military stuff but it’s an aviation safety manager position. For an aerospace company tinkering with outer space projects.

I don’t think I have a good shot at that but will see if they make me an offer. You never know.

The call I took today wasn’t really an interview but just a talk. The hiring manager flew the same kind of helicopter and airplanes that I flew but in the Navy not the Marine Corps. He had some other people to talk to.

Real interested in something called SMS. Told me to look it up on the internet. It’s a safety program. Said he would be in touch about an interview. They want someone there this month right away. He didn’t disclose what the salary was or if there was relocation.

Will have to stay tuned.

I have another interview on Wednesday for an Aviation Program Manager in a small town in NM. Don’t think there is much there. The pay is $75,000 to $85,000 per year the ad says. They sound really excited to talk to me.

I would be managing an aircraft painting facility.

Will see how it goes.

I did that interview today. They didn’t ask me many questions but said they had some other people to talk to and that I should hear something in about two weeks.

He said the hours were 7 am to 5 pm though. That’s kinda too early for me. Their crews work a day shift and a night shift.

If it’s too early, maybe you should keep looking. A regular sleep schedule is really important. If your sleep gets off and you get run down, you could have a relapse.
