Dear all,
My weight has been increasing steadily with brexipiprazole (rexulti) 3 Mg
I have used many diets and tratments for obesity without benefit like saxenda
My doctor last year decreased dose to 1 MG
And I still gain weight
Around 17 KG in one year increase
Facing health issues is inevitable in near future like diabetes and high pressure
My doctor has no idea why its causing me weght gain because he says this med is weight neutral
Also My eating habits is normal.
He said we have an option to decrease to.50 MG
Should I decrease the dose ? Change the med ? Or stop the med for a short period so I reduce my weight ?
Dieting is the only way. A balanced diet not a crash diet. Measuring your food or doing meal prep of healthy meals. People often eat a lot more than they think they do. Best of luck my friend.
Although rare, paradoxal reactions to meds do happen. It’s a possibility that the med is impeding your metabolism somehow. The other options is that you eat more than you think you do, or that you have some other unrelated disorder.
I have to weigh, count, measure and track all food and beverages I consume and eat under a certain number of calories in order to lose weight. I also exercise 5x/week.
I’ve lost 70 lbs taking 600 mgs of Seroquel over the last 3 years (285 to 215).
Weight gain/loss is calories in, calories out. I eat (I do have some cheat days) high protein/low carb. I drink a lot of water. I eat Chia seeds for fiber, and I snack on celery sticks and carrots.
That’s an interesting technique. I think I saw somewhere that one should have significantly more veggies than other stuff. So I guess that you have fruit and veggies that is twice the other stuff.
As per The New Atkins, I am minimizing the grams of carbs in vegetables and maximizing their fiber.I am avoiding meat. No soda drinks or fruit drinks. Minimal fruit berries, no other fruits.Beans and nuts for protein.
Egga, tuna, low fat cheese like Edam or cottage cheese are good with wholemeal bread or salad. Then include cereal like weetabix and branflakes. Eat smaller dinners, forget fast food and get yourself tested for diabetes because once your super big it becomes likely that. Don’t starve or skip meals, just eat the healthy options and stay a step ahead so you know what to eat when. Weigh yourself every day and write everything down, good luck!
You might want to speak to dr again about it asap if healthy eating isn’t helping you to lose weight
