My little Lilly has passed

Yesterday Lilly passed very peacefully.

It was super difficult for my husband and I but it was best for her.

She was 14 years old and I loved every second I had with her.

Lilly has seen me through some of the most difficult and dark times in my life.

She was a constant companion and light.

If you’ve been on the forum for enough years you may remember some Lilly emergencies.

She ate a two dozen cookies once.

She ate a 1/2lb of chocolate once.

She ate a whole bag of Greenies (dog treats) once.

She had two emergency surgeries and survived it all.

Of course it cost us tens of thousands of dollars in vet bills,

But Lilly was always worth the time, pain and money.

So much money.

I’ve been the proud owner of several animals but I don’t even feel bad saying she was and will always be my favorite.

She was a horrible little ■■■■■ and I could totally relate.

Except the little part.

I don’t know what happens when you die,

But I do know that her energy is somewhere out in the cosmos.

I love her so much and she will always be among my most cherished memories.

I’m sure chocolate isn’t toxic in dog heaven so she won’t be costing the gods a fortune in vet bills.

I miss my little baby Lilly so much and she will always be a part of my very soul.

I know how it feels like to lose a beloved dog.

I’ve even gotten fevers over it.

Good luck in the grieving process.

Lilly forever!

I’m sorry for your loss. Lilly will be waiting for you on her side of the Rainbow Bridge, I’m sure there’s abundant dog-safe chocolate and tons of Greenies over there keeping her occupied until you meet again.

The only time I cried and was more upset than when my first dog that I had living on my own went is when my sister did, so I totally get it.

It’s rough. Time will likely make it easier to deal with but it’s always there when you think back. You have my sympathies.

Bless your heart. I am so so sorry to hear this. 14 is a very good age and I know you gave her such a wonderful sweet life.

She will always be with you in memories and in your heart. I hope one day you meet her at the rainbow bridge.

Hugs.

Thank you, @Montezuma.

That made me smile.

Jimmy is such a good boy.

And handsome!

Just like his dad.

Ha!

I am really sad about Lilly and I miss her,

But she had a great life and lived a long time.

It was the kind thing to put her to sleep when we did.

I know her life force is out there somewhere,

Being recycled into something amazing.

Maybe a star, maybe a tree, maybe another barky dog.

That gives me a lot of comfort.
