So my little baby bro came around today and took my Charlie to a council site. I couldn’t do it and had said my goodbyes. Gotta love family when you need it. I am very fortunate to have a great family. I’ve also been blessed with great companion pets. Charlie made 18 years which is a lot of time to give love to someone like me! My marriage only lasted 2 !
Couldn’t justify spending $300 to get her cremated. Everyone offered to pay but we didn’t spend much on mum so thought it inappropriate to do such a thing.
So. In memory of a great companion! Raise your glass of coffee to a lovely little girl who gave an old man so much joy! If your debating getting a pet…I’d say go for it and enjoy! They add so much to our lives and I wouldn’t take back any of it! Peace, love and understanding!
I’m sorry about Charlie (and being on the heels of your mum’s passing as well). You seem to have a good appreciation for the time you’ve had with your sweet girl, but the missing is strong for awhile. I agree pets are well worth any trouble or heartbreak, unconditional love seem easy with them.
I hope you continue to give love and a good home to many more animals in the future.
Thanks peeps. Much love. It was a sad end of the year but I loved the times we had. Charlie made 18 years and was a great part of my life for so long. It’s hard to say goodbye but this next year will be better. No pets for a while…Dad just isn’t pet friendly but I never say never.
Thanks all for your kind words. It’s much appreciated.
