I said what…exorcise the demons!!! Haha. Im lazy and im proud. He said it would be easier to tell if i was bored or depressed. I know when im depressed cause i curl up in a ball in bed and think about death. I really should start walking every day though. I just get nervous with the neighbors houses. I always think they are looking out the windows at me
Maybe listen to your doctor.
Exercising is great, it is one medicine.
Some exercise is good. I have a tip for you if you dread the thought of exercise: Set a timer for 2 minutes and start moving your body. You can do it indoors if you like, jumping jacks, etc.
You can probably do 2 minutes of exercise even if you don’t feel like it. 2 minutes is not a lot of time.
But 2 minutes is much better than no exercise. And as you build the habit you can maybe increase the time to 3 minutes, then maybe 4 minutes. Or not, you can stay at 2-3 minutes if that’s all you can do.
Try it! You don’t even have to set a timer, you can just decide on 10 jumping jacks and 10 knee raises.
I’m lazy too and my doctor also wants me to lose weight. It’s hard but I try to get out and walk a couple miles at least once a week. I haven’t noticed an improvement in my weight but I did notice an improvement in mood after I’ve walked.
Do you have any friends or family that you could walk with? I find walking with others makes me less paranoid than walking alone.
Let me know if you need an exercise buddy @pasteyface.
Get a dog. Go for nice walks!
I love walking but since I’ve suffered deterioration in my mental health with menopause I stopped doing it but now I do very short walks and hope to build it up
There are two me:
One that exercises and generally feels good.
And, one that doesn’t exercise and feels lethargic and slow.
Exercise, exercise, and exercise. I did only 50 minutes today, sometimes it is one hour and fifty minutes.
I think two minutes is very reasonable; even I can do that. It’s a good goal. May start. But I’ll be darned if I do jumping jacks. No way in heck. I’ll stick to something easier, like picking up or dusting for two minutes. Good advice, though. Thanks.
That used to be an option for me. Then the arthritis hit and I started living in a place with a wooden floor surrounded by concrete.
Like a fortress?
No a group home in the middle of the city. There’s some grass but rain makes it muddy.
Oh jeeze. Im sorry.
I walked the dogs today. During the daytime. It was cold. Like 27 degrees. I didn’t have my jacket zipped up.
Usually I have to walk them at night because it’s too damn hot here.
They are huskies. We’re loving it.
Dakota caught a squirrel today. The cold must have gotten it off its game. It took me 30 minutes to get it away from her. She was growling at me.
Walking the dogs is the only exercise I get but these will be my last huskies. I am getting too old for them.
Before I got sick I used to run with them. I have never been able to run with the ones I have now though.
I’ve been trying to get myself to exercise, but so far I’ve been too lazy. I can get kind of compulsive about exercise. That’s not good. I need to find a happy medium.
I need to exercise too… I wanna do it for me though not for the doctor
I’m not surprised she growled at you! She caught herself a nice meal! Lol!
What about saving up for a treadmill then you can walk with your blinds down.
I cant save. My bills are almost more than my income on social security. I dont like tredmills either. Id rather walk somewhere.
