I’ve been watching my 600lbs life on YouTube some of them lose 50lbs in a month how would someone who’s 300lbs do that I wanna lose weight if I dropped 100lbs in 2 months that would put me down to 200lbs and I’m talking about before they have the surgery
I think I’m about 260 lbs … gonna lose another 60 lbs soon
i think they eat a low carb healthy diet of only 1200 calories a day with light exercise.
It took me like 8 months too get down from 350 to 300lbs these people are doing it in weeks but they tend to go from over 700lbs to like 500lbs and I’m standing there like in awe because it’s been taking me months to lose some weight I’m seeing a dietitian tomorrow I wanna only loose 100lbs my doctor I talked too today said 4lbs a month is good not that much that fast
I have lost nearly 60 lbs since last September. Slow going, but healthier. I am also adding muscle on my legs, arms and chest. (Resistance bands.)
Congratulations and I’m also strength training too however I guess that show has givin me a unrealistic dream of fast weight loss
If you lose weight that fast you are losing muscle and possibly even bone. Slow and steady wins the race.
I fricken love that show. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve seen every episode that’s breen uploaded to YouTube.
Let’s goooo brother!! You can do it
yeah @AwesomeFisherman slow is better and it also helps keep the weight from coming back and will have u learning new eating habits. it says online its good to lose about 1-2% of your body weight per week. so at 300 pounds that would be 3-6 pounds per week. it would prob come off faster at the start like 6 pounds a week. then slow to 3.
How is it possible too lose bone doesn’t seem possible too me at all do you mean amputation
Extreme dieting means you are not only not getting enough calories, but likely not enough nutrients or minerals. Your body needs calcium. Guess where it pulls it from if there isn’t enough in your diet?
Wow maybe my weight loss plain ain’t good I don’t see myself losing that much weight considering I’m not over 600lbs that’s straight up scary
The heavier you are, the faster you lose, because the heavier you are, the more calories you need to maintain weight.
A 300 lb (136kg) person won’t lose as fast as a 600 lb (172kg) person
I think anyone who is living healthier and losing even a bit each month gets a fist bump:
It’s not a race, it’s a journey and if you are improving your health you are on the right path.
Thanks @shutterbug thats very kind of you I’m just a very impatient person this fall I’m joining a gym I’m temporarily using dumbbells and walking around the camp I want a bowflex body I think a gym would have a bowflex
One thing to remember about that show and the diet they are on is that it is a surgery prep diet… Dr now does not recommend this diet for long term weight loss I looked it up. He only recommends it because over 600 you’re at a breaking point where you could die at any moment so he recommends something extreme in an attempt to save them because surgery at that weight is very high risk…
This idea is to lose as much weight as fast as possible so they can get the surgery which will help them. Again, this is not a recommended daily diet even from Dr now.
I looked this up. It is a diet that can cause other health problems, but they are regarded as less serious than dropping dead from being morbidly obese.
Resistance is resistance. You can lift jugs of water. You can do exercises on playground equipment using your own body weight. You can get some resistance bands from the dollar store. It’s not about the equipment, it’s about the will to work your body using what is at hand.
Yea it’s all about risk management when a person is at that weight. But for a person who is not super morbidly obese, slow and steady always wins.
