Just weighed myself. I’m 99.6 kg (219.5 lb) I can’t remember the last time I was under 100 kg.
I used a online calorie counter. It takes in consideration your height, weight, gender, age and activity level and tells you how many calories to eat daily to lose weight.
So tracking my calories to make sure im in a deficit and also exercising is working. I wanna get below 200 lb so bad.
Nice dude! Great work. Idk if this works at every weight but it’s something I learned from the show my 600 lbs life. I think it’s a general rule of thumb.
I’d you want to weigh 200lbs eat 2000 calories, if you want to weight 300lbs eat 3000 calories and so on. Idk if it’s 100% accurate because of course activity levels vary but I think it’s generally true especially for inactive people..
I heard dr now say a few times to people who were 600 lbs and such “to maintain this weight you must be eating 6000 calories a day”.
Again this probably doesn’t take into account much variation for activity levels but assuming it’s average I think it gets you in the ball park. If activity levels are average and you eat 2000 calories you’ll weigh around 200. If you eat 3000 every day, eventually you’ll weigh 300 etc
According to the Mayo clinic
“A 225-pound man needs about 2,475 calories each day”. So it seems there’s something to it. it’s a good approximate.
If I wanted to weigh 180lbs I think around 1800 calories would be a good goal.
Edit: maybe a better way to understand this is as a base calorie intake and add however much exercise you get on top of it. So it would be like: I want to weigh 200, therefore I should eat 2000 plus whatever exercise I do. So if I burn 300 calories through exercise and I just want to maintain it would be 2300. I think that’s more accurate
Good job! Losing weight is hard. I’m struggling a little with binge eating and recent weight gain. I need to go back to counting calories and measuring my food again.
