I’m currently on paliperidone once a month. It’s doing good for me. My nurse just mentioned the three monthly injection. Same medication just only need the injection every three months
Wondering if anyone else here has switched and if it is just as good.
I wish Amisulpride came in injection. If you have ever had problems with remembering tablets or being non-compliant, it’s a good idea to go for the shot.
I never realised they had a three month one. Sounds better than having to go to the pharmacy every month and trying to take tabs everyday.
Im on exactly the same - 100 a month. I wouldnt really like going every three months. Cos Usually - i can have a chat with the cpn in person about any concerns whilst im having the jab done - instead on relying on phone support.
I think there has been a directive sent down the NHS line to promote and get patients to switch to 3 monthly, if they can. It cuts workload after all and saves them cash.
I had my first 3 monthly today. It took longer to inject. I’m hoping it isn’t any different to the monthly one.
the doctors mentioned trinza to me. but I was reluctant to switch. I had side effects from the monthly injection (sustenna) and was reluctant to take such a large dose all at once.
I would love to be on the Invega injection but my insurance won’t cover it. I’m on 12 mg of the Invega extended release pill, 1 mg of haldol and 200 mg of Lamictal. The three month injectable sounds even better. I have heard injectable antipsychotic medication works better, but I unfortunately have no experience with that. (Well except in the hospital with emergency haldol injections!)
I dont wanna switch from sustenna to trinza. The patent is gonna come off the 1 month injection much sooner than the three month. I would prefer to be on a less expensive medication even though my insurance currently picks up most of the cost.
