I’ve been denied twice for disability and am in the timeframe to appeal. Any advice before the meetings? Tips for attaining disability, or perhaps you can shed some light on how the experience might go
I think the timeframe for an appeal is around two years right now…
Good luck. I hope it all works out.
Don’t work or go to school while you are applying. Do not “improve.” Collect lots of evidence. It comes down to luck and not everyone can do it on the first or second try!
I got disability on my first try without a hearing or anything. I wasn’t working and had records indicating a lot of care for my sz. How did it go today?
It went well. I actually think I might not need her, but more going to see her as a secret weapon. But so far just on my own I’ve made a lot of strides in the process and feel it’s going well, I’ll update everyone on the coming days or weeks. In my state disability moves rather quickly, I’m not looking at over 3 months unless there needs to be a hearing.
Anyway, who here is on disability, do you have any tips? Things you found out that you would have liked tohave known during the initial application process?
Took me 6 months to get my disability. I didn’t need a lawyer and got it on the first try. I also got back pay. I really hope you get it as you seem genuine.
Did you have to do a lot of paperwork?
I got accepted right away but I had an attorney who helped with the application process.
Good luck @PsychoticPsyduck
It all went well, I had an interview with SSA on Tuesday and gave them all my records so now all I do is wait. I need this to work. But it sounds like it should, I have had plenty of treatment for my SZA and legitimately need the benefits. If I get denied this time I’ll talk to an attorney
