When you go no carbs you have a few days of feeling ■■■■ because your body uses up its glucose/glycogen reserved and fats haven’t started to break down yet. They sometimes call it ketoflu.
Felt real rough today (especially since I had a poor sleep last night). Just had a tin of tuna and a load of diet cola and am feeling better now. Felt rough before.
I remember when i was in a Keto Diet. Less than 30g of carbs a day. For some people, it works wonders but it was not for me. It didn’t take long until I felt like death. I didn’t have enough energy to even get outta bed. My point is, I hope you find out what’s best for you! Kudos for trying something out! Best of luck
Yeah, Atkins allows a limited amount of carbs. I was on it more than 8 years ago so I don’t remember a lot of details but I seem to remember that according to your metabolism, you can have a certain amount of carbs per day. Some people can have more carbs than others on the same diet. Some people can only handle 40 grams of carbs every day but others can handle 90 or a 10o grams while they are on the same diet.
No idea what it is with you lot and no carbs as you need fiber in your diet to live. Trans fats anther mater altogether but we still need fat in our diet. All a lifestyle change not a fad diet. Moderation is the key. Eat less, move more.
I can remember reading in a periodical some years back that the healthiest way to get your calories is to get most of them from carbohydrates. That sure has changed. Isn’t it a little hard on your heart to get all your calories from meat?
There’s nothing wrong with carbohydrates. A diet with lots of carbohydrates can be very healthy, in fact people in places with very high life expectancy often eat a lot of carbohydrates. But avoiding processed carbohydrates like sugar and white flour is a good idea. Those kinds of carbohydrates can be very unhealthy.
