Man I wish carbs were expensive and protein cheap

And I wish you could store protein as easy as you can dried rice, pasta etc

I’m not a great meat eater. I prefer non meat stuff. But I’m not a vegetarian.

Are you thinking of going on a keto/atkins type diet or do you just like meat ?

It’s just I eat a lot of rice because it’s cheap and easy to store. I wish healthy meat was like that

I’ve managed to cut down on sugars and try to eat whole grain but I eat a lot of carbs

yeah I eat a lot of carbs. nothing that sugary but still. im at a healthy weight but I have a bit of a belly. I considered going keto to get rid of my little belly but decided not to. I digested carbs much better before meds, I was high carb and only weighed 120-140 pounds, but I was much more active. now it seems I store it as fat around the midsection and in my chest. I only walk about 30 minutes a day now, and then just sit around.

peanut butter, whey protein, canned tuna, eggs milk, beans, chili, dirt cheap

healthy fats and fiber with a lot of water

simple carbs arent the end of the world, except when they lead to nutrient deficiencies or are eaten to excess

simple carbs are rocket fuel for anaerobic exercise, if one is on a regimen of this they need not hold back

Dried beans and lentils keep forever on the shelf, and you only have to boil them until they’re soft, same as pasta and rice. And some of them come in fun colors. My favorite are the bright orange and green lentils. They taste the same, but add color to my dishes.
