Magnesium and fatigue

I suffered from chronic fatigue. So I started to take magnesium about two weeks ago. It worked well during the first week as I felt less tired during the day and better sleep at night. But things change. Now I felt lethargic and easily fell asleep during the day, which seems the magnesium I took doesn’t work any more.

Maybe you’re taking too much? Too much Magnesium will dehydrate you. You don’t have to drink more water just take a bit less magnesium maybe. Too much and it’s bad, not enough and it’s bad. Just find the amount that works for you and everything’s good. It removes salt from your system.

Thanks for your concern. Currently I took half of the magnesium tablet but this might not be the right dose for me. I’ll try 1/3 or 1/4 of the tablet, and then see what will happend. @anon92887483

Oh really? Is that all you took? It’s possible if you eat a lot of grains or fortified foods like cereal (many packaged foods have vitamins like magnesium added) that you’re getting enough already. What do you think?

Good considerations. I will be careful with what I eat by checking it.

Awesome! If you ever run out of magnesium you can also take vinegar. Apple cover vinegar tastes the best, but by vinegar will lower your blood pressure and help you relax to sleep

One way to tell if you’re overdosing on magnesium is whether it’s giving you very loose bowel movements. Most people don’t need magnesium supplements. It is a metal, and isn’t filtered out of your body quickly. Instead, it builds up and can cause problems if you take supplements regularly.

It isn’t as dangerous as other metal supplements, but if you’re having diarrhea it’s time to stop the supplements.

Yea no need to be worried it’s not like lead, murcury, or oxidized iron. Those are toxic ?heavy metals? that the body doesn’t need. It’s actually a substance that helps remove those metals because it can take their spots on the receptors of cells
