I would like to try this supplement and see if it makes me feel normal again @Aziz I was reading that different companys have different amount of levadopa in their supplement do you think maybe you just got one with a high amount? I remember you saying it made your positives worse
It’s a dangerous supplement for people with sz. It can induce psychosis. Also it really clashes with antipsychotics. I tried it once and do not recommend.
Is it addicting in anyway? How much of it did you try?
Not that I know, I only took it for a few days before I understood it was a no go.
I don’t take it daily as taking it daily gave me positive symptoms, I was taking 10 pills of 15% a day, 600mg ldopa. I only take it when I feel bad. I prefer Huperzine A as it doesn’t worsen positive symptoms. I take 800mcg a day.
In theory yes as it increases dopamine in all the brain but I wasn’t addicted to it.
The truth is that prescription levodopa is stronger and has a longer half life as its mixed with carbidopa two compounds that make it more potent. Ldopa effects don’t last long 1-3hrs max while huperzine A half life is 10-14hrs.
The thing is L dopa will raise dopamine. But it doesnt mean its gonna raise it in the right areas for you. Plus theres prob other chemicals and receptors at play.
It raises dopamine in all the brain bad and good for sz. Bad for positive symptoms, good for negatives and cognition. You’re on Concerta I think and thats much stronger than ldopa, also increases dopamine in all the brain and has a bigger risk of worsening positive symptoms than ldopa. I remember you tried big doses of ldopa and it did nothing.
Oh yeah i meant like doesnt vraylar agonize d3 receptor?
Partial agonists are partial antagonists they still block dopamine that’s why they are antipsychotics although not as much as full antagonists like risperidone. Dopamine is a full agonist of dopamine receptors. Stimulants like Adderall and Ritalin increase dopamine conentration so they’re indirect full agonists.
L-Dopa is the precursor to dopamine, its converted to dopamine in the brain.
