¿Could anyone who takes or has taken levodopa tell me if this medication worked for them?
I read that levodopa is converted directly to dopamine throughout the brain.(
It will cause psychosis based off of one user who was taking it on the forum

Perhaps with a minimal dose of levodopa some dopamine balance could be achieved. I will ask my doctor.

Oh, I took it for two weeks. Had to stop. It really and I mean REALLY ramps up positive symptoms. Nearly blew my insight. It is off my list as a viable treatment for Parkinson’s. Probably a bad idea to ask for that med.
Edit: This was at the lowest dose.

I take an over-the-counter vitamin supplement called Dopa Mucuna. It has L-dopa in it apparently. I take half the dose cause the dose is two capsules. I take one capsule now two or three times a week. It helps me perk up. It keeps me from feeling extremely flat from negative symptoms. But the dose is two capsules. And to take two capsules every day would probably definitely make me more psychotic.

@anon40326163 Interesting. I looked for it in an online store in Argentina and found it. I could buy it without a doctor’s prescription.
I need to try something that increases dopamine, I can’t tolerate antipsychotics.

If you get capsules with the powder inside you can easily take apart the capsule and pour out half or more of the powder to see how you react to it at first. I notice the effects start around 40 minutes after I take it and last for 4 to 8 hours with me.

25mg 3x/day. It was wonderful for the muscle rigidity and uncontrolled hand movements. I was not able to titrate up to the standard dose because of how badly it affected my SZ. I wish I could have stayed on it.

Bad decision.
It took one pill to get to hell of psychosis …
Don’t waste money on crap.
But if you want to get high,use selegiline.
It’s selective MAO inhibitor.
I used it in small doses,it helps with lethargy.
Bupropion also.
