Yeah man. Totally agree.

Tell me about it. Worldly acclaim (even citywide, even block-wide acclaim) is not what it’s cracked up to be by the agents of the wealth-accumulating elites who seem to want the idea sold to the masses to whip them up into creative, productive, consuming and wealth-defending frenzies.

When I heard a famous rock & roll star tell us that he could no longer go anywhere in public without protection, I began to consider the matter. But when I found myself concerned about everything I said in public because I was supposed (meaning “considered by others”) to be an authority on some life-and-death or big-money topic, I began to lose way too much sleep.

The next time you find yourself in a big amphitheater lecture hall listening to some world-renown prof laying it on, you might wonder how comfortable he or she is up there.

Same here. I mean with all this self help information and it being about “living your dreams”. What about reality? I think I started to grow up once I let go of my unrealistic aspirations

Living a life that is true to your desires is more important.

Well, or at least true to my values. (I’ve learned to be very careful with my “desires.”)

Yall are some smart folk. Was really just posting the song and you guys turned it into a legitimate thread.

Yes…Probably better to say true to who you are. Like if you like to draw picures, at least make it a hobby even if you wont make a living of it. I would prefer to be satisfied with what im doing compared to having a high status job. A year abroad changed that for me.
