Normally maintenance change lightbulbs in my group home but I don’t want anybody going in my bedroom as it’s a mess so I changed it myself. I was unsure which lightbulb to get. I got one but I thought it was the wrong size. I had to get the step ladders. I felt unbalanced on the stepladders as I had to use both hands, my ceiling is quite tall. I was worried I was going to get an electric shock as the light come on when I plugged it in. I haven’t changed a lightbulb in 12 years. Staff are not allowed to change lightbulbs either for health and safely.
I’m glad it’s done now. How are you with changing lightbulbs?
Our bulbs our special, energy saving, LED, halo shaped bulbs. The property manager has our maintenance man install them. I don’t even know where to buy them, we needed a new one a few months ago in the kitchen. The kitchen ones have been changed about 4 times in the last 5 years. I’ve been in this bedroom for 3 1/2 years and it’s the same light bulb as when I moved in.
I volunteered for my brother in laws electrician business for a while. Most electrical I am actually ok at even things like running cable etc. Nothing like getting hit by 240 volts though so I’d recommend you let someone else do it if your not feeling skillful at it.
I’m the kind of person that can feel a bit wobbly standing on scales to be weighed . Standing on a chair to change a light bulb is even worse. My balance and coordination has never been good, and undoubtedly has worsened with age.
