Issues with the new house

So this house is a sub-let, the guy that rented it and is now sub letting to us is making a fraud because he couldn’t sub let. He charged us over 100€ more to make money, my mom payed six months in advance and he doesn’t even give us priviledge to the garage and storage unit in the building, that he’s using to storage his own stuff.

The owners got in touch with us, they want to make a new contract with us, with the original price, and priviledge to the garage and storage unit.

Things are working out great for us, but I doubt the guy is going to give back the six months in advance.

As soon as his contract is nulled we are contacting a laywer to sort this out with him.

Nightmare. Frauds are terrible. When did you find out?

Yesterday. We were weirded out because the neighbours were being so rude, then my mom stopped to talk to one of them, and she understood that we didn’t know, then she talked to the landlady and the landlady said she doesn’t mind signing a contract with us.

So does this mean you guys are going to have to pay the landlady upfront as well as having already paid that guy six months up front?

I don’t think so, I hope not. I doubt they would ask us to do that.

Cool. Well at least the situation is sorted now. These are the sort of situations regarding moving that stress me out. All the best for your new house.

Well, that’s a twist you could have done without. I hope you get your money back from this guy, but I’m sure you will.

Maybe you should contact the police too. See what they have to say. It could be a criminal offence rather than a civil offence.

Yeah, we’ll see. The landlady asked for us not to do anything until she resolves the issue with him.
