Is it normal to hear voices when there is white noise?

Is it completely normal or is it a sign of mental illness? Or is it a ‘functional hallucination’ whatever that is supposed to be. Do normal non-schizophrenics hear voices if there is a fan making white noise?

I’ve read that even normal people can in fact hear what sounds like voices from fans etc. I think it’s the vibration or something.

My mom doesnt have schizophrenia and she hears voices in fans and air conditioners. I hear white noise occassionally. Thats the only auditory hallucination i have. It only lasts a few minutes and i usually dont notice it until its gone.

Whats the difference between normal voices and functional hallucinations?

When I was without meds going to a noisy place would lead to my voices amplifying to where I could hear them as loud as if there was no outside noise at all. It’s how sinister they are.

I always hear something in white noise it sometimes triggers auditory hallucinations. It is very common for neurotypical people to hear sounds in white noise. I’ve talked to many people on this site who say that white noise caused them to hallucinate. I didn’t get the impression from anyone that it was a huge problem. For me it has been a problem. I avoid white noise when able.
