I am currently taking 3 mg and feel very crushed. I understand that the suggested dose is 1.5. Do any of you take this dose? Do you think it’s therapeutic?
I’m on vraylar 1.5mg and olanzapine 20mg.
I don’t think 1.5mg is a therapeutic dose.
What do you mean you feel crushed? Please explain?
Yes. I switched from 3mg to 1.5. It should be effective for some. I believe It’s the minimum recommended dose for sz, not the suggested dose. I dont think they would put it as minimum dose if it made no difference. If its the right dose for you or not is something you need to figure out with your pdoc.
I feel sedated, and I don’t enjoy anything.
Yeah. I will ask my doctor if he can lower me to that dose. Because with the current one I wouldn’t be able to study next year.
I feel the same from olanzapine.
Vraylar picks me up and I feel more alert.
Have you tried abilify?
Apparently I’ll start Vraylar soon, just waiting for results on heart tests
With abilify I had suicidal thoughts. I don’t think I have many options available.
I wish you good luck with the results!
Ok!
Can’t you take another med before going to bed. Olanzapine or quetiapine? And take vraylar in the morning?
I took olanzapine and gained a lot of weight in addition to being very sedated.
I didn’t try quetiapine. In any case, I think that no antipsychotic in intermediate doses is going to do me any good. They all have the same mechanism of action.
What does a “therapeutic” dose mean? That it does not really have much affect but that your imagination tells you that it works? im on 50 mg Seroquel maybe that is therapeutic too
I mean a low dose that doesn’t put you at risk of relapse.
Perhaps you can try it as an add on treatment?
I don’t know, I never took two antipsychotics. If I feel sedated I think that with two it will be worse.
1.5mg of Vraylar sent me to the psych hospital in 2016
I was high as a kite with mania from it
It was extremely activating, more so than Abilify
I understand you. It’s risky. Do you know of any medications for negative symptoms that are in the development phase? I don’t see any other solution to my problem. I’ll have to wait for something new to come onto the market.
you can try a lower dose but symptoms can come after a long time. you should be careful. 1,5mg cariprazine is like 7,5mg abilify if you tried that already. i had suicidal thoughts on abilify too when akathisia existed. i read in a trade magazine that these often happens so my psychiatrist and me reduced the dose…
i would reduce stress, maybe you can then go to a lower dose and reduce negatives induced by medicaments.
Yes, that’s my problem. I don’t have negative symptoms, only positive ones. The medication causes them for me.
