My doctor told me to cut out sugar but she didn’t go into detail about how to avoid diabetes. Can someone tell me how? @Wave @Bowens

Reduce sugar and carbs and fats and exercise more
Probably exercise, lose weight , cut out most sugar and monitor carbs.
Yes this is the same advice I’d give you as well @Nomad
Plus drink at least 5 to 6 16.9 ounces of water daily
Yes I agree with @Bowens
Keeping your weight under control is very important as well.
Probably the most important with consuming less carbs
I’m pre-diabetic ir diabetic now. Let my weight get out of control since quarantine. I was hypoglycemic, my blood sugar always was too low. Now the past week it’s been all over the place with a spike at 235 couple days ago.
I immediately cut sugar. No more soda, no more candy, and only sugar free desserts or energy drinks. Portion control, too.
2018-19 i lost 42 pounds with only portion control, so I’m betting going sugar free will be a bigger loss.
You can reverse it. Just follow a healthy dirt, exercise, drink LOTS of water, and cut back sugar inrake.
I ate some sugar in my foods while losing weight. I reversed my diabetes that way. My dr told me not to cut out carbs, but rather to choose healthier complex carbs. And sometimes I had regular sugar in my diet.
Regardless of what method you choose, I hope you’re able to reverse it. I was on Metformin, glipizide, and a shot I forgot the name of. Now I need none. Good luck!
I think fasting will speed up the cutting sugar
Just keep your hydration levels in check
Look up snake diet
