Sugar free!

So my blood sugar has been unstable past few days, maybe longer. I decided to get seripus and cut all sugar plus cut portions again. I lost 42 pounds just cutting portions in 2019, so I figure doing both will be a drastic weight change.

Day 2 of no sugar and it’s going well.

Anyone else want to join me?

I’m cutting back sugar and carbs. Doc put me on metformin (there was some spectacle involved there). Three pounds gone in the first week.

I’m sugar free since January.
Carb free since March.

I’m very happy and don’t see myself going back.
Lost 25lbs.

5 more lbs is a goal.

I started sugar free and generally healthier eating about two weeks ago.

But I cheated the last couple days.

Lost about 14lbs fast.

But gained 4 back.

Not to sad about it because I’m back on the diet and will lose it.

I’ll be honest. It obviously depends when you took them. If after meals, snacks and stuff. But to me if those arent within a couple hours of meals and such, they look like pre diabetic readings at best to me. Diabetic readings at worst.

As far as the main post goes. I rarely have sugar as it stands now. But I suppose I could make an effort to cut back on portions as well. I guess I’m in.

Edit: To be more honest…they actually look more severe than pre diabetes.

Oh, i agree. I believe I am probably diabetic. This early I can change it with diet and weight loss.

I made a doctor appointment. Will see what they want to do Sept 7

I cut out almost all sugar, besides the occasional sweet treat, and I’ve lost a lot of weight. I’m currently down 85 pounds, and am out of the prediabetic range. I know it’s not all about weight loss, but getting the blood sugar levels under control helps out in so many ways! Add in a half hour walk every day and the differences will be amazing.

Of course I will post the obligatory disclaimer to check with your doctor before making any drastic dietary and physical health changes.

Good luck! You got this!

For me it started off with this range fasting I was at 155 to 165 max.

I used to have metformin.

Later on this med stopped working and doc changed when my sugar shot up to 425 or so.

Now with meds its in control about 97 to 110 max fasting.

Good walk and diet it will make good difference.

I now rarely take in any sugar.

Even some times I don’t add any sugar free powder or tabs. In my tea.

oh man, I don’t eat sugar very much…maybe a candy bar once in a while…I don’t use it in my coffee. I guess I eat pastries so there’s that…
