Matrix would require a lot more work and resources and power.
Truman could easily be done as an experiment on a small group or population as an experiment like on an island or small town.
Furthermore, I definitely believe we could be living in a Truman show type reality inside an alien computer program like the SIMS. They could easily be watching us and making TV shows and putting them in reality. Just like the movie the Matrix.
You seem to be more comfortable with the idea of the Matrix instead of Truman show for whatever reason.
The Truman Show movie is a little ridiculous, but so is mind control and MK-Ultra and the lot.

Free will could be a variable or something that could be turned on and off like a switch. We don’t know. We might have a little free will. But then inside the sim, we have mentally ill people who experience altered states of consciousness that might have the illusion they are robots as well as having delusions of those sort of things. I experienced this. I have recovered.
I believe in determinism and am a compatibilist (w/e).
I believe I escaped the SIMS (Matrix) and helped program, run it, etc. I’m lucky and unfortunate and one of the few. You can change it like Age of Empires and crap. There might be humans as well as aliens outside running things. It might be left on it’s own. There could be thousands or perhaps trillions such ‘automated’ programs around running without an ‘admin’. It could be a grand experience or experiment to test different conditions or outcomes. Exactly like a simulation or oracle machine or ■■■■ lol.
Hell, we might not exist as humans or be real outside the simulation. Life or physics could be radically different. We might not even be possible outside the simulation where ‘higher’ beings live.
I know a lot or profess too. What we experience as 13 billion years, might be an illusion. They’re memory or cognition might span multiple dimensions or timelines and is unfathomable (their intelligence).
We might be ants or primates compared to them. It might not be possible to understand them given our limits in physics or the constraints they put us in. This artificial primitive prison.
Imagine to them that 13 billion years (age of our universe) is like a second to them or less. They could have infinite brain capacity and memory. That’s my theory anyways.
While our universe resets or dies (from our perspective) their universe doesn’t. Thus they can see and know practically everything.
Imagine a windows browser that can see anything and anywhere on planet earth (string theory computer code). This goes with my memories and beliefs.
Imagine opening up some computer windows with coordinates of Earth and seeing everything and anything. Even getting into people’s minds and reading their thoughts. Perhaps, people like me are being targeted for ‘knowing too much’. Sometimes, I feel like I know too little haha!

SIMS seems reasonable when I have delusions of external control. And I have it very often, but not everyday. Some days, like today, I don’t have any theories in mind, I am just absorbed in life. Other days, trumanomatrix makes me question everything and makes me live in spiritual agony

I’m not happy with just philosphical thoughts. I have to know and prove it. I thought about SIMS (Matrix) for 8+ years straight every day and practically every second of every day and discovered and remembered I ran the damn thing before in a past life.

You have obsession. I also have obsession. If it’s not truman, one day, it will be matrix/SIMS, if not Sims it would be maya and illusion. Everyday something makes me obsess, even if it’s slightly altered or differentiated from the previous thought.

I had DP/DR which makes sense about my obsessions. My dad has OCD and I was diagnosed with it at one time. Mental illness and suffering makes it 10x or even 100x worse. Above average IQ and tendency towards questioning things and philosophical thought tend to lead towards such things.
