Did you ever get a very bland feeling that life doesn’t mean anything to you? Frankly, I think doctors feel this way all the time - that’s why they take such risks as to try to be responsible for someone else’s health. They really gave up long ago.
No I don’t believe that about doctors. A doctor can compartmentalise. It means that they can put things to the back of their mind , or block it out. Be empathetic and caring in the moment , but when the moment is gone, its gone. To remain healthy I guess that’s what they got to do. With schiz it can be hard to understand how usual people think because I guess , we project how he think onto other people. A big cause of delusions unfortunately
Well, I’ve seen the bland look on their faces and it’s always a disappointment to me.
People pull a multitude of faces , if we analyse them frame by frame we would get very sick. A doctor is a problem solver as much as anything else , I guess if all he can say is ‘take your meds’ and little else I guess that can be mundane for all concerned
I’m in nursing school, and we’re being taught to keep a bland, straight face. No matter what we see or hear, keep a straight face. As a nurse or doctor you shouldn’t let your personal opinion reflect on your face.
I am sorry but there are a lot of medical doctors who have some form of antisocial personality disorder or narcissism - they turn off their emotions at a drop of a hat - most humans are not geared this way.
Not saying this is a bad thing for their kind of work
Just about everyone feels that way i think.
And if they don’t they will soon.
I agree with you that doctors(psychiatrists)as a class gave up long ago. There are too many mentally ill people for all the psychiatrists to deal with. Psychiatrists today have very few options but to give us medication. We shouldn’t ask them to understand things they have never experienced themselves.
