I think haldol is killing my motivation and ability to speak. I still feel paranoid, its slightly different then off meds but idk if its worth it anymore. I was put on antipsychotics at 11 and im 35 now and at this point i feel brain damaged. Thinking about weening off it.
I’m not going to try to tell you how to work your own program, but when they put me on haldol I felt so bad I couldn’t be psychotic. My life on haldol was an earthworm existence. Life was BAD. It they want to put me on that stuff again they are going to have to catch me first.

Irr. Meds affect cognition in some severe degree. But trust me that it doesn’t matter weather you are on Haldol or Seroquel your surely gonna feel it on your cognitively abilities. Studies has shown that your cognitive scores worsen with 1 percent per year you take them.So after 30 years of taking meds my cognition worsened with 30 percent. The catie study has proved that 1. gen aswell ad 2. gen have equally affects on positive aswell as negative symptoms. The 1. gen cause more muscular side effects and 2. gen cause more weight gain. None of the atypicals have gotten approved for cognitive or negative symptoms.
So the treatment algorithm is. If the drug does not cause unacceptably side effects and surpresses the positives enought then keeping that meds is the solution
