I think I was heading for relapse 😕

I posted this 2 weeks ago.

It had been getting subtly worse since then. Inch by inch worse.

I took a big dose of L-theanine today like I said in another thread and now it’s all ok. Like from major distress to tumbleweeds.

A few months ago I cut down my L-theanine to 400mg/day. Today I took 800mg.

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s the combination of abilify and high dose l-theanine that’s kept me out of hospital so far and not abilify alone.

But I had certainly lost insight.

I will say it freely man - when I read that post a few weeks back I was worried about you. This upset me. Not just because you are a pal but you being a rock on this forum has always been one of a number of guidestones for me and when you posted this my world view was shaken a little!

Glad the l-theanine is helping man. That is my favourite supplement by a long way.

Keep up the good work man

I’ll report this to my psychiatrist. I’m seeing them on Monday anyway.

Glad the supplement helped. When I did lion’s mane it really helped. My therapist was impressed. Ish I still had the cash for it. Another supplement I had good results with is DMAE. Works like an AD.

Wah ! :astonished: I just checked it out on webmd.com . It says not to take it if you have schizophrenia basically. So be careful with it.

Side Effects & Safety

Deanol is POSSIBLY SAFE for most people when taken by mouth or applied to the skin.

When taken by mouth, deanol can cause constipation, itching, headache, drowsiness, insomnia, excitation, vivid dreams, confusion, depression, increased blood pressure, an increase in schizophrenia symptoms, and unwanted movements of the face and mouth.

Special Precautions & Warnings:

Pregnancy and breast-feeding : Not enough is known about the use of deanol during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.

Clonic-tonic seizures : Deanol should not be used by people with clonic-tonic seizure disorders.

Depression : Deanol might make depression worse.

Schizophrenia : Deanol might make schizophrenia symptoms worse.

Huh. It worked well for me. Maybe you should avoid it then.

I haven’t had any luck with supplements. Two of them made me worse but I don’t remember what they were. Another one made my tremors come back even though I take meds for that.

I tried that broccoli stuff though and I just threw it away. I threw all that other stuff away too. L lysine. The theanine you are talking about. And sarcosine. And pregnemelone or something like that. All was bad news.

I know what you mean. I don’t have much luck either. I just got (very) lucky with l-theanine. I’ve had good luck with broccoli sprout extract too (so far).

But the rest of them, like you, just made me worse.
