I mitigate intrusive thought, others come to take it's place

Through practice I found ways to reduce a set of reoccurring memories of a very toxic 2012 phone call. Part of it was that I worked it out in my head, gave forgiveness to those involved, and accepted unpleasant truths about who I was at that time and how I’m still a selfish person. These thoughts are less frequenct now, sometimes they return but I have methods to dismiss them. Now other negative memories, long past and recent, come at me to fill the void. At least there’s more variety and not the same spam.
