I might start Topamax today. Should I quit sarcosine?

I was wondering. I thought I read that they both act on NMDA receptors in the brain. I don’t want to be overstimulated like I was last time. I’m worried I’ll end up psychotic or something on Topamax. But Topamax should lower my weight substantially, help my so called migraines, and stabilize my mood.

I’m worried about a decrease in IQ, but I’m not sure the doctor will admit this.

Can someone clarify if sarcosine and Topamax both interact with NMDA receptors in the brain? Thanks!

Topamax was really activating for me. I could imagine that Sarcosine would increase this effect. Ask your doctor what you should do. They might say to stop it, and might say to wait and see how you feel.

The Wikipedia says that topamax hits ampa kainate receptors which are very similar to nmda receptors
