I’ve been having a difficult time swallowing.
This also includes foods and water but even when I’m not drinking or eating.
I don’t know why?
Maybe it’s anxiety?
I’ve been drinking more coffee than usual.
Ugh … it’s always something.

It’s weird.
It is always something. Ugh. I had a hard time swallowing when I was on a couple different meds. For me it was Invega and Seroquel.
I have difficulty swallowing food. It’s scary. I have to be careful what I eat, chew carefully, mix bites with fluid before I swallow. I eat a lot of moist food. I’m sorry you are having this problem. I know it can be very scary.
I had this as a side effect from one of the APs we tried. I don’t remember which one, but we stopped it soon after. It was the strangest thing and very uncomfortable. It happened shortly after starting the med and stopped shortly after discontinuing it.
I have no idea, no earthly idea.
That happened to me with an AP, but I don’t remember which one
I know it can be an issue with parkinsons so I’d ring your doctor. It could be med related.
I think coffee can cause anxiety. Some users here say that.
It could be med related. It could be a stroke. Or it could be cancer or even something else. It’s best to get it checked out by a doctor if it continues or comes back.
I think it could be. It couldn’t hurt to ask your doc. I’m not sure what else it could be so I don’t want to say for sure.
Esophagitis is inflammation of the esophagus that can be caused by acid reflux or certain medications.
Are you feeling better @Wave? Have you gotten any relief?
Hmm…a possible allergic reaction to food or meds?
I have acid reflux. I end up throwing up. Then I can swallow drinks etc. Idk maybe that’s what it is.
I was once taken off of antipsychotics entirely for 4 months because of swallowing difficulties.
Thanks everyone.
I’m doing much better today, I think that the culprit was food related.
I bought some almond butter for the first time ever and had some last night, then the swallowing issues occurred.
Going to keep an eye on things.
At night when I’m in bed I can’t swallow my saliva. I often panic.
I had dysphagia since 2014. I went to see a surgeon earlier this year. He did 2 gastroscopies and biopsies. He diagnosed me with eosinophilic esophagitis. I had to take medicine and follow a strict diet. One of the things I had to cut out of my diet was cow’s milk. I had to use almond milk instead.
Best to get a professional opinion if your symptoms continue.
